Public meeting to discuss state Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan

INDIANA – IDHS will host a public meeting to answer questions and receive comments about the State Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan update. The State Multi-Hazard Mitigation Plan lays the foundation to build resiliency in the state of Indiana by identifying Indiana’s greatest risks for disasters and creating strategies to mitigate these risks. This plan is required to be updated every five years by FEMA.

The public meeting will be held at noon on Monday, Oct. 16, 2023, at the IUPUI Informatics and Communications Technology Complex located at 535 W. Michigan St., Rm. 357 Indianapolis, IN 46204.

There will be a short presentation detailing the plan and the significant changes since the 2019 update. Afterward, the planning team will be available to answer questions and receive input. The draft 2023 plan is now available to the public for review and comment:

Public parking is available at the Gateway Parking Garage. Attendees should take a ticket from the parking garage. IUPUI will validate the tickets.
