54th Annual Fort Vallonia Day is next weekend

VALLONIA — The 54th Annual Fort Vallonia Days is next weekend.

Activities are scheduled from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Oct. 21 and 22. However, a few things will be going on Oct. 20.

The purpose of the event is to raise money that will help to maintain the upkeep of the Fort, grounds, and museum, and to purchase more property to aid the annual celebration.

On both days of the festival, a variety of demonstrators will be set up within the fort, a model steam and old gas engine display will be outside the fort, booths will be set up selling food and crafts, there will be a flea market and people can check out the merchandise shop in the Joe Jackson Community Center.

There will be lots of craft booths, food booths, flea markets, and entertainment for adults and children alike. Activities include, but are not limited to: Mick Gray Memorial Trail Ride, Wes Hartley Memorial Muzzle Loading Shoot, Archery Shoot, Brownstown Exchange Club 5k Walk / Run (Register Online), Fort Vallonia Little Miss & Little Mister (Register Online), Pumpkin Carving / Decorating Contest, Horseshoe Pitch, Tomahawk / Knife Throw, and a variety of different demonstrators.

With crowds estimated as large as 30,000, Fort Vallonia Days is one of the premier fall festivals in southern Indiana!
