Underage drinking party ends in the arrest of Peru woman on a warrant

INDIANA – Yesterday evening, shortly after 10:00 p.m., a Peru woman was arrested for a Miami County Warrant.

The Indiana State Police-Peru Post began an investigation on September 2, 2023, when troopers were dispatched to 1266 N. Crestview Dr., Peru, IN, for reports of an underage drinking party. While troopers were enroute to the residence, they encountered a property damage crash involving a juvenile driver. Further investigation revealed the juvenile was intoxicated and coming from the underage drinking party at 1266 N. Crestview Dr., Peru, IN. 

Troopers went to the residence and located another juvenile operating a motor vehicle while impaired. This individual was found to have marijuana on their person. In addition, troopers located several other intoxicated minors, with another possessing marijuana. Troopers spoke with the homeowners and interviews were conducted. 

Yesterday, Trooper David Kewish filed for and was granted a warrant for Julee E. Kramer, 36, Peru. Law enforcement officers went to the residence in Peru where Kramer was located and taken into custody without incident. 

Julee E. Kramer was arrested and transported to the Miami County Jail for the initial warrant of the following charges: 

  1. Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor Child – Class A Misdemeanor
  2. Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor – Class B Misdemeanor

The Indiana State Police would like to remind the public there is zero tolerance when furnishing alcohol to minors. 

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
