State Road 135 to close for culvert replacement north of Freetown

JACKSON CO. — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Force Construction Company, Inc. is scheduled to close State Road135 beginning next week for a culvert replacement in Jackson County.

On or after Monday, October 2, State Road 135 will close to traffic approximately one mile north of the S.R. 58 intersection in Freetown. The closure is expected to last up to 30 days, weather permitting.

Traffic will be routed along the official detour, which follows S.R. 58 to S.R. 258 to S.R. 11 to I-65 to S.R. 46.

This project is part of a $4.5 million contract awarded to Force Construction in May 2023. INDOT reminds motorists to slow down, use caution, and drive distraction-free in and near work zones.
