Three arrested after police raid home

DECATUR – Wednesday at approximately 2:00 p.m. state troopers from Fort Wayne Post, along with officers from Fort Wayne Police Department, attempted to serve an arrest warrant at a rural residence in the 7800 block of County Road 300 East, Adams County.

The arrest warrant for Kain Lee Vaughn, 28, of Bluffton, was for an Allen County probation violation (original charge a felon in possession of a firearm).

While attempting to locate Vaughn at the rural residence, Vaughn allegedly fled in a passenger car and led officers on a vehicle pursuit which ended in the town of Monroeville.  Vaughn was taken into custody on charges of dealing a controlled substance, resisting law enforcement, and a warrant out of Allen County at the conclusion of the pursuit without further incident.

As a result of that arrest and further investigation, troopers then developed probable cause to file for a warrant to go back and search the residence on County Road 300 East, Adams County. The request for a search warrant was ultimately granted.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. the ISP North SWAT Team was called in to execute the search of the residence.  During that search, a total of three adults were detained, several firearms were located, and various illegal drugs were found.  Two of the adults detained during the search, Bernardo Garcia, 40, Decatur, on charges of maintaining a common nuisance and possession of marijuana, and Mackenzie Vanlue, 25, Rochester, on charges of possession of meth, a legend drug, controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were arrested upon the conclusion of the search warrant.

In total, there were three arrests made during this investigation.  All arrested were transported to the Adams County jail and booked into custody on various felony and misdemeanor charges.

Troopers from the Fort Wayne Post were assisted in the overall investigation by the ISP North SWAT Team, the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Adams County Sheriff’s Department, and Parker’s Wrecker Service.

There is no further information to release at this time.
