Frank Darrell East, 80, of Bedford, passed away at 1:40 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born June 19, 1943, in Bedford, he was the son of Frank Floyd and Mildred Lois (Coulter) East. He married Tana Wakefield on October 24, 1964, and she survives. He was an engineer at Control Data and manager of JC Penney maintenance. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Vietnam War and a member of Old Union Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Tana, of Bedford; three children, Frank Darrell East, Jr. and wife, Kimberly, of CA, Andrew Scot East and wife, Melody, of New Mexico, Dawn Orian (East) Rockhill and husband, Han, of CA; seven grandchildren, Grant, Katherine, John, Molly, Maxx, Madison, and Andrew; one great-grandchild, Naliyah; three sisters, Mary Anne Wargo and Karen Shafer, both of Bedford, Linda Lee, of Maryland; five brothers, Edward East, of Bedford, Ray Alan East, of OH, Timothy East, of Bedford, Steve East, of Maryland, and Patrick East, of Bedford; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Theresa East (in infancy).
Per his request, cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
