Theft of iPhone lands man behind bars

BEDFORD – A Bedford man is facing a charge of theft after an iPhone had been stolen from the residence at 276 Rawlins Mill Road on Wednesday, September 13.

When police arrived they spoke to the male caller who said 39-year-old Demetrious Coleman had taken his phone without permission.

The man told police he normally lets Coleman use his vehicle but wouldn’t let him this time. Coleman got upset and left and that is when he noticed his iPhone missing.

The caller then used his computer to track his phone and it was pinging in the 2000 block of VFW Road.

Officers then attempted to locate Coleman. They found him sleeping in a vehicle in the 2000 block of VFW Road.

Coleman was asked about the stolen phone and then handed it to the officers. He was then detained on a charge of theft.
