Stars celebrate Senior Day with 6-2 victory over Trinity Lutheran

BNL senior Grant Beyers scored two goals as the Stars topped Trinity Lutheran on Saturday.

BEDFORD – Bedford North Lawrence celebrated Senior Day with a 6-2 triumph over Trinity Lutheran during boys high school soccer action on the turf field at BNL on Saturday.

Adriano Sullivan scored four goals and Grant Beyers added two as the Stars (4-4-1) pulled away in the second half and honored its senior class of Beyers, Jayden Duke, Andre Waters and Isaiah Conner (out with injury).

“They had no answer for Adriano,” BNL coach Ryan Otis said. “Trinity played a tough physical game. At the end of the day, we were more skilled and faster. We did a good job maintaining possession.”

Beyers got the Stars started with a goal off a free kick at 29:15 in the first half. Sullivan struck off a J.D. Miskuf assist at 23:16, and he converted another via a Beyers pass at 5:59. Trinity got both of its goals in the first half off long-range shots from Zander Roggow and John Harris.

In the second half, the Stars created separation with net shots from Sullivan (35:16), Beyers (from a Sullivan assist at 33:17) and Sullivan again (from Hiram Mullis) at 24:53.

“Grant had a good overall game as he usually does,” Otis said. “He is our constant in the middle. Jayden played some good minutes for us and had several good chances to score. Andre made an impact in the game and is always a good teammate. We’re hoping to get Isaiah back this year to be a playmaker for us.”

BNL will host Edgewood on Monday.
