Car show raises $30,000 for Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services

BEDFORD – The Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services Car Show raised over $30,000 for the cause, with more than 200 awards given out, and 233 vehicles registered last Saturday.

The event raised more than the past two years and had a great turnout. Cars, trucks, tractors, and motorcycles in varying degrees of beauty and age were on display for the crowd of sightseers and supporters.

The Shriners donated food, passing all the proceeds to the LCCPS, and the silent auction brought in 5k on its own.

“They were all instrumental in making this come together with our Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services Volunteers,” said Judy Heichelbech of the LCCPS board of those involved.

There were many involved in the success of the event, including the LA-OR-MA Shriners, Jeff Hobson, the manager of Hobson Ford, Kenny and Karen Deckard, Jerry and Betsy Robertson, and Steve Warren.

The awards were given out by 6 judges from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and covered a range of categories and qualifications.

Photographed in great detail, you can visit the album of event pictures online HERE to see who won the awards. If you’re looking for a specific person, don’t worry, they’re there, too! And if you weren’t able to make the event yourself, now’s your chance to get a look at the happenings.
