BEDFORD – A Bedford woman was arrested on drug charges.

Tina Lane

Bedford Police arrested 38-year-old Tina Lane on charges of possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug with a prior conviction of dealing, and unlawful possession of a syringe.

According to a probable cause affidavit, on Wednesday, August 30 a Bedford Police officer was on patrol in the area of 16th and O streets when he observed a gold Chevrolet Impala exit the Circle K parking lot. The driver was Tina Lane and the officer knew she was driving with only a valid learner’s permit. The vehicle also had an expired license plate. The officer stopped Lane in the CVS parking lot

Lane told the officer she did not have her identification because it had been stolen and admitted to driving on a learner’s permit. Lane was asked if there were any drugs in the vehicle and she said no.

Lane told the officer she didn’t own the vehicle and could not give him permission to search the vehicle.

Lane was asked to step out of the vehicle. Canine Flex was requested to the scene and alerted officers to possible drugs in the vehicle.

Lane was issued a citation for a learner’s permit violation.

Inside Lane’s backpack officers found a silver gum wrapper that contained a brown/white powdery substance that field tested positive for Heroin. Officers also found 19 syringes in the backpack.

Lane was detained.

The vehicle was towed by Jackson’s Heavy Haul.
