The song of the katydid

BLOOMINGTON – The Nature Sounds series combines a live, acoustic performance by local musicians with an educational nature presentation about the sounds made and found in all of our outdoor spaces.

Katydids

Friday, Sept. 22 from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Bryan Park, Woodlawn Shelter

It wouldn’t be summertime without the surround sound of insects. One of the loudest and most familiar calls belongs to the katydid.

The song of the katydid starts with the classic “day-y-did” calls, and eventually, the treetops echo with their chorus. Come learn more about the stridulating wings of the katydid while listening to the stridulations of the fiddle.

Admission to all Nature Sounds concerts and programs is free. Bring your own seating.
