According to a probable cause affidavit, on June 4, 2022, Bedford Police officers responded to the 700 block of Lincoln Avenue after a report of a man violating a protective order.

The woman told police she was dropping off children for supervised visitation with their father, Fortner. The woman said she was standing outside of her truck when Fortner pulled up next to her vehicle, got out, and began telling her how much he loved her and wanted to work on their relationship.

When the person supervising the visitation arrived she told police she saw Fortner talking to the woman. That woman told police Fortner was there to visit his children but was not to address the mother of the children.

The person said Fortner was yelling profanities at the woman. The supervisor then terminated the visitation and Fortner got back into his vehicle and left.

The information was sent to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office and a warrant was issued for Fortner’s arrest.
