INDIANA – Over the next several days we’ll have the chance to observe celestial wonders from the safety of our backyards. This weekend, you might be able to see Saturn’s rings as the planet reaches opposition (a.k.a. the Earth is aligned between the sun and Saturn).
You should be able to see Saturn through a pair of binoculars, but you’ll need a basic telescope to detect the rings. This article goes a bit more in-depth about the phenomenon, and why our view of Saturn and its rings continues to change.
