Pushing match lands Mitchell man behind bars

MITCHELL – Mitchell Police officers arrested 33-year-old Cody Bowling on a charge of battery after responding to a report to 702 West Mississippi Avenue on Tuesday, August 15th.

When police arrived at 4:10 p.m. they spoke to a male who reported he was outside sitting with his dog that was tied to a lead to the front railing of his home.

The male said Bowling, “who has a bad temper”, walked to his house and confronted him about “not owning the block”.

During the altercation, Bowling forcefully pushed him down onto the ground. The man suffered two small abrasions to his right elbow.

The male did not want to file charges because he told police he was afraid of Bowling.

Police spoke to Bowling who admitted he had walked to the male’s house. He told police the male continues to harass him and his family.

The two have a continuing dispute about Bowling’s children walking their dog on the sidewalk in front of the alleged victim’s home. And the male harassing the children.

Bowling admitted to pushing the male to get him away from him.

Bowling was arrested on a charge of battery causing injury.
