BEDFORD – The Bedford 12U All-Stars landed the State Championship tonight in Jeffersonville by defeating the Highlander Youth Recreation 12U All-Star team 3 to 2.
Shortstop Saxton Pennycuff made the final out when he tagged second base for a forced out for the win.
According to Team Manager Casey Jones, this is the first state title in Bedford’s Little League history.
The team advances to the regional level, a double-elimination tournament featuring state champions from Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, and Michigan. That winner will qualify for the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa.
