Woman admits to throwing items at her boyfriend and is arrested

BLOOMINGTON — Two Bloomington parents were arrested after Bloomington Police officers were called to an apartment in the 200 block of Kimble Driver Thursday at 7:39 p.m.

A woman reported she had called the Department of Child Services hotline to report she was having suicidal ideation while she was at home with her three children.

Due to the mother being in possible mental distress, officers were alerted and responded to check on the mother and the children.

When police arrived police spoke to the mother Heather Crawford and her boyfriend Jonathon Garcia and the three children.

Police discovered that both parents were using heroin with the kids in the home. There was also a domestic dispute between the couple earlier in the day which the children witnessed.

Crawford refused to file charges but admitted that she had thrown items at Garcia.

Crawford did not want to charge Garcia because they were in a romantic relationship, however, she did admit to throwing items at him. Crawford was then arrested on a charge of domestic battery.

The case remains under investigation.
