IHCDA announces HOME Innovation project winners

INDIANA – Since relaunching the program in 2018, Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority has awarded 13 awards under the HOME Homebuyer program (HOME), and three awards under the HOME Innovation Round, for a total of 16 unique awards.

For non-HOME Innovation projects, IHCDA has awarded $1,785,116 in HOME funding, to support the construction of 29 homebuyer units across the state.

Habitat for Humanity of Elkhart County recently broke ground on Hope Court, which was funded with HOME awards.

For HOME-Innovation projects, IHCDA has awarded $1,844,200, to support the construction of 18 homebuyer units across the state.

As of June 5, 2023, a total of $3,629,316 has been awarded for HOME. A total of 47 units for homeownership have been supported through the HOME program.

The following counties have received a Homebuyer award:

  • Morgan County – three awards
  • Bartholomew County – four awards
  • Elkhart County – four awards
  • Hamilton County – one award
  • Brown County – one award
  • LaPorte County – one award
  • Huntington County â€“ two awards

Nine unique non-profits have been awarded through the program, including four Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDOs) and six Habitat for Humanity Affiliates (of which one is also a certified CHDO).
