Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce investigation leads to arrest of Ossian man on child pornography charges

WELLS CO. – On Thursday, June 8, detectives with the Indiana State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICACTF) arrested a Wells County man on alleged charges of possession of child pornography.

In April 2023, the Indiana State Police ICACTF began their investigation into a Cyber Tip received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The tip ultimately led to a search warrant being served on a residence at 210 S. Ogden Street, Ossian, IN, by the Indiana State Police (ISP); with assistance from the United States Department of Homeland Security and the Ossian Police Department.

As a result of the investigation, Avery Bodwell, 33, of Ossian was arrested and transported to the Wells County Jail on the following preliminary charges:
