Bedford Public Library has something for everyone to enjoy

BEDFORD – The Bedford Public Library has something for everyone to participate in and enjoy during the month of June.

Messy Art Night is Tuesday, June 13 at 4 p.m. Dress for a mess and come paint, draw with sidewalk chalk, and create your own kindness postcard. This activity is for the whole family.

Storytime at the Park at Wilson Park is scheduled for Thursday, June 15 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Blankets or towels are encouraged for Storytime in the grass. This event is if the weather permits.

Do you love anime, manga, and all things Japanese? Join Mersi on Thursday, June 15 from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. Come taste some Japanese snacks, talk manga, and play anime bingo. Those attending are encouraged to come in cosplay.  Adults and Teens can register here or call 812-275-4471.

Surviving Spouses Support Group is the third Friday of every month. This month the group will meet on Friday, June 16th from 10 a.m. until Noon at the Bedford Public Library.

Explore chain reactions with exploding craft sticks and more on Saturday, June 17 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Visit the library to pick up a Chain Reaction Kit in the Children and Teens Department while supplies last. One kid is available per child.

Summer Discovery Music Series on Tuesday, June 20 at 4 p.m. will feature Ana Nelson, Jazz Saxophonist.

Ana performs and collaborates with many groups in jazz, classical, and Latin jazz styles. Ana is a co-founding member of the NelBap Duo, a piano/saxophone duo with Aruban pianist Jamaal Baptiste that specializes in jazz and Brazilian song arrangements.

Come join us in the library parking lot for our Touch-A-Truck program, on June 21 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Families with children K-5th grade can come to learn all about the different cars and trucks it takes to run our community.

Join library officials on Thursday, June 22 at 10 a.m. for Storytime at the Park at Springville Park. Blankets or towels are encouraged for Storytime in the grass. Weather permitting. This event is if the weather permits.

Skunks, gators, and snakes- oh my – You’re sure to have a wildly good time with Silly Safaris as they show off these critters and more on Tuesday, June 27 at 4 p.m. This event is fun for all ages. The program will be at StoneGate Arts and Education Center, at 931 15th Street in Bedford.

Join us Thursday, June 29 at 10 a.m. for Storytime at the Park at Garden Park. Blankets or towels are encouraged for Storytime in the grass. Weather permitting.

Stop in the library on Thursday, June 29 from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. and explore recipes from all over the world. Check out each station, learn about different cultural foods, and choose recipes to take home and try. You can even bring one of your favorites to add to the collection.
