Annual Medical Fraud Symposium set for June 15

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit and the Indiana chapter of the National Society of Professional Insurance Investigators invite State of Indiana employees to the Eighth Annual Midwest Medical Fraud Symposium.

The annual event is being held in the Indiana Government Center South Conference Center on June 15 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Indiana CLEs are pending. 

This Symposium will provide you with a live educational and networking forum for Private and Public sector personnel engaged in the investigation of, and defense against, medical provider fraud.

Sessions include topics such as:

  • Fraud Prosecutions – Perspectives from the Other Side
  • Flying the Data Algorithm Autopilot: Separating the Wheat from the Chaff
  • Opioid Fever OR Poppy Fields Forever (with apologies to the Beatles)
  • The FBI’s Approach to Addressing Health Care Fraud on a National Level
  • Ethical Considerations for Medical Fraud Investigations
  • Sober Home Fraud and How They Cost Private Insurance Companies Millions
  • Emerging Identity Crime Trends and Victim Resources
  • TENS Units: Medical Necessity and Coding Concepts Related to Fraud and Abuse

In addition, the Symposium will serve as an opportunity for cross-discussion and networking between Private and Public sector personnel as well as between Claims, SIU, Medical, Legal, and other personnel representing or providing services to Healthcare, Casualty, and Workers Compensation insurers.
