Congress Square and adjoining streets closed in Orleans while Dogwood Festival underway

ORLEANS – Motorists are urged to use caution when driving in and around Orleans.

Congress Square as well as many adjoining streets are closed to vehicular traffic.

The Orleans Dogwood Festival is officially underway and will run this week until April 29th with the commencement of the parade.

Pursuant to the Town of Orleans Ordinances, the following are banned in the festival area and Congress Square; skateboards, bikes, scooters, and skates. Pets should also be kept on a leash at all times.

Officers from the Orleans Police Department as well as the Orange County Indiana Sheriff’s Department will be present during the festival.

A First Aid station has been set up on the south side of the square and in the event of severe weather, or any other type of emergency, the Orleans Christian Church and Orleans United Methodist Church are designated shelter areas during festival week.
