BEDFORD – Bloomington North posted a 182-142 victory over Bedford North Lawrence during Unified track action on Saturday.

The Stars crossed first in two relays, Trace Walter won the shot put, Justice Kruchten won his flight in the 400 meter dash and Keaton Kimbley won a flight in the 100.

“Today was a tough meet against a tough team,” BNL coach Mike Branam said. “They are a larger team than us, so we don’t match up well in head-to-head dual meets. We are traditionally a better tournament type of team than a dual-meet team.

“The kids came out and did well. Trace Walter stepped up in the shot put to pull out a win in the top flight. Justice Kruchten ran a personal best to win his heat after outperforming his seed. Both of our relay teams looked good in pulling out the wins as well. The seeds were just not in our favor today.”

BNL won the girls 400 relay with Gracelyn Arthur, Samantha Biel, Tori Logsdon and Harley Tanksley combining to clock 1:04.83. The Stars also won the boys 400 with Koltyn Clute, Brax Huber, Joshua Morales and Ethan Robinson posting 51.48.

Kimbley went 14.12 in the 100, Kruchten timed the 400 in 1:06.38, and Walter threw the shot 38-2.

BNL will visit Edgewood on Tuesday.
