BEDFORD – Ellie Anderson won two events and anchored a successful relay, scoring the bulk of Bedford North Lawrence’s points during a dual meet with Jennings County on Thursday night.

The Panthers, paced by three double winners, recorded an 80-52 team victory.

Anderson was victorious in the long jump (14-7 3/4) and high jump (4-8), and she teamed with Deja Hanners, Savannah Russell, and Tori Kiser to win the 400 relay (54.73). She was also second in the 200 (29.10).

“Hopefully that will build her confidence,” BNL coach Jason Webb said.

BNL’s Mary Batz crossed the line first in the 400 in 1:03.43, and Kayln Ritz cleared 7-6 to win the pole vault.

“We had some good performances tonight,” Webb said. “We are continuing to improve as the season progresses, which is what we want. We just need to keep seeing times go down.”

Double winners for Jennings included Mallory Manowitz (100 hurdles in 18.27 and 300 hurdles in 53.69), Rachel Manning (13.39 in the 100 and 27.76 in the 200) and Cheyeanna Leslie (30-11 in the shot put and 107-11 in the discus).
