Three arrested on drug charges after police find marijuana and fentanyl

BEDFORD – Three people were arrested Thursday on drug charges after a Bedford Police officer stopped the driver of the Ford Escape after he failed to use a turn signal when turning from 7th Street onto Lincoln Avenue.

The driver of the vehicle, 48-year-old Billy Rodman, of Bedford, pulled over in a parking lot at 5th Street and Lincoln Avenue.

The officer could smell the odor of marijuana inside the vehicle.

Rodman admitted he had been smoking marijuana and there was marijuana in the vehicle. Rodman then handed the officer a blue grinder from the center console that contained marijuana.

Rodman had two passengers in his vehicle 22-year-old Dason Andis and 19-year-old Olivia Weaver who were asked to step out of the vehicle.

During a probable cause search of the vehicle police found a cigarette pack in the center console that contained a baggy of fentanyl. Police also found a glass smoking pipe with marijuana residue, a digital scale, and a “one-hitter” device.

Both Andis and Weaver denied the drugs were theirs. Rodman admitted the digital scale, one-hitter, grinder, and marijuana were his but denied ownership of the fentanyl.

Andis and Weaver were arrested on a charge of possession of a narcotic drug. Rodman was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jacksons Heavy Haul towed the vehicle from the scene.
