Volunteers needed for Earth Day – restoring wildlife corridors

BLOOMINGTON – Join the City of Bloomington Parks & Recreation Department in the native garden for springtime maintenance and throughout the park to help control invasive species at Park Ridge East Park on April 22.

There are two shifts for this event – shifts are at the same time, but groups are working concurrently in different areas. One group will be helping eliminate invasive species while the other group will be doing native garden maintenance. Officials are looking for 12 volunteers for each group from 10 a.m. until Noon.

Volunteers will be bending, pulling weeds, lifting, and using sharp tools. Gloves and tools will be provided. Poison ivy may be present, so we recommend wearing a hat, long sleeves, and long pants. Bring a water bottle.

On-site training is provided.

Volunteers under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.) Volunteers under the age of 18 must have an Underage Waiver of Liability signed by a parent or guardian. Click Here to complete our digital waiver.
