McCormick’s Creek State Park and Inn to reopen on Friday, campground will remain closed

OWEN CO. — McCormick’s Creek State Park is expected to reopen on Friday after an EF-3 tornado ripped through the park’s campground. Brett and Wendy Kincaid were killed during the storm. The couple was camping in a trailer at the campground when the tornado hit.

Park officials reported it took crews two days to clear the roadways to the campground after thousands of trees were blown to the ground.
