BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department announced the Griffy Lake boathouse opens for the season on April 1, weekends only from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.
Watercraft rentals (kayak, canoe, and stand-up paddleboard) are available; advance reservations are strongly preferred.
Walk-up rental availability is limited.
Call the boathouse at 812-349-3732 during normal operating hours (Saturday and Sunday only during April, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.) or email griffy.boathouse@bloomington.in.gov to make a reservation. Rates are $9/hour and include a personal flotation device.
For those who already own a kayak, canoe, or paddleboard, stop by the boathouse during open hours to buy a daily launch permit ($9) or an annual launch permit ($90).
Boat motors on Griffy Lake are limited to electric trolling motors only.
