Constellation for Kids presents Mo Willem’s classic: Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical!

BLOOMINGTON – Whatever you do, don’t let the Pigeon star in his own musical production!

Constellation Stage & Screen is bringing a fun new family musical to Bloomington! Based on the beloved children’s book, Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical! is sure to be a hit with both parents and children alike. With a script written by Mo Willems and Mr. Warburton – the creator of the #1 New York Times best-selling, Caldecott Honor award-winning “Pigeon” picture books – and featuring music by Deborah Wicks La Puma (composer of Elephant & Piggie’s We Are in a Play!), Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical! is a comedic musical production that is even more fun than staying up late and having a hot dog party!

It’s not easy being the Pigeon – you never get to do ANYTHING! But when the Bus Driver has a crisis that threatens to make her passengers (gasp!) late, maybe that wily bird CAN do something. Featuring a fun mix of songs, and feathers, Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical! is sure to get everyone’s wings flapping.

Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical! is bringing together a talented cast of local actors. In the leading roles is Yul Carrión as Pigeon and Sarah Cassidy as the enthusiastic Bus Driver. Tucker Ransom and Nikki Strawski, current IU Theater students, and Sophia Linville and Miriam Spillman, local elementary schoolers, are joining the cast as members of the ensemble. Supporting this energetic cast is understudy Gracie Harrison.

The production team includes Constellation’s Artistic Director Kate Galvin as Director, Nicholas Ranauro as Choreographer, and Sue Swaney as Musical Director. Also on the creative team are Katie Ayer (Stage Manager), David Wade (Scenic Designer), Mike Inwood (Lighting Designer), Becky Underwood (Costume Designer), Stefanie Senior (Sound Designer), Aubrey Krueger (Props Master), Aimes Dobbins (Assistant Stage Manager).
