BEDFORD – Bedford North Lawrence’s Jeff Allen was named the District 3 Bob King Coach of the Year by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association.
Allen, a two-time winner of the award, guided the Stars to a 27-3 record and the Class 4A state championship in 2023. During his nine seasons at the helm of the program, he has posted a 206-40 record with five Hoosier Hills Conference titles, nine IHSAA sectional crowns, three regionals and one semistate.
He also was named coach of the Indiana All-Stars in 2020 (when no games were played because of the virus shutdowns) and 2021. He was the district’s Coach of the Year in 2019. He has also served as a BNL boys assistant coach (two season) and girls assistant (five years).
Other previous BNL winners of the award include Pete Pritchett (1991 and ‘92) and Kurt Godlevske (2013).
