BEDFORD – Bedford Fire Department firefighters are on the scene of a large fire at the Living Room Center on 5th Street.
At 5:30 p.m. firefighters contained the blaze to the Living Room Center warehouse.
Bedford Street Department placed barricades on 5th Street at Indiana State Road 37 and Belback Road, 5th Street at X Street, and Belback Road was closed at John Williams Boulevard due to the heavy smoke in the area.
The fire and smoke were massive. Firefighters from all three Bedford Fire Department stations responded to the scene.
The Living Room Center warehouse was engulfed in flames and firefighters worked diligently to contain the blaze and protect surrounding buildings.
No other information is available at this time.
Assisting at the scene were officers with the Bedford Police Department, IU Lifeline Ambulances, and the Bedford Street Department.
