Two men were arrested after an Orleans Police officer stopped the driver of a vehicle for an expired license plate

ORLEANS – Officers detained two people on Saturday night after conducting a traffic stop.

At approximately 7:29 p.m., an Orleans Police officer stopped the driver of a Ford pickup truck that had expired license plates.

A search of the vehicle was conducted and an officer found a plastic baggy containing a crystal-like substance that tested positive for meth.

There were two occupants in the vehicle, 41-year-old Adam Scott and 72-year-old Hans Oberth and through an investigation, these narcotics located resulted in both men being arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail

Scott, of Orleans, is facing a charge of possession of meth with enhancing circumstances. Oberth, of Orleans, is facing a charge of possession of meth.

Assisting agencies with this arrest were officers with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department and Paoli Police Department.
