Bedford Historic Review Board approves new sign at former Regions Bank building

BEDFORD – During a meeting on Monday, members of the Bedford Historic Review Board voted to approve a request from Anthony Webb to add a new sign to the front of the property at 1501 J St., which was previously Regions Bank.

Webb’s request was to add a 3×24 lighted sign to the front of the building, where the previous sign was placed.

The sign will be a black background with write letters that will read the new name of the building, which Webb said will not be revealed at this time. The building, which will be used to house multiple local businesses will have a name Webb said was given to it in the spirit of it’s history in the community.

“The whole theme behind it, it has been a bank since 1920 or whatever so that’s kind of the theme. To kind of keep it what it’s always been in the community and that type of thing. It’s geared around that, I’ll say that,” Webb said of the new name.

There will be a ribbon cutting and open house at the property on March 27, where the new name will be unveiled.
