GoFundMe page will raise funds for injured officers

LAWRENCE CO. – Randal Phelix, a retired detective with the Mitchell City Police Department has started a GoFundMe page to raise needed funds to assist with medical and living expenses for Mitchell Police Officer Christian Anderson and Lawrence County Deputy Joshua Rhoades.

Both officers were shot in the line of duty during a traffic stop early Sunday morning on State Road 37 at the Sinclair station.

Deputy Rhodes was shot twice, and Officer Anderson was shot once in the shoulder. Both officers were transported to the hospital and then airlifted to Indianapolis for further treatment.

Both officers are on the road to recovery and have been released from the hospital.

The goal is to raise $10,000 to help both officers support their families and cover medical expenses. So far $940 has been raised.

All proceeds will be controlled by the Fraternal Order of Police Spring Mill Lodge #172.
