A firefighter’s quick response helps extinguish a fire at his neighbor’s house

FAYETTEVILLE – An Indiana Creek Volunteer Firefighter was able to quickly extinguish a house fire early Sunday morning in the 300 block of North Sandstone Road.

Firefighters responded to the blaze after a 911 call at 12:08 a.m. at the home of Kaleb Canada and Ashley Bryson.

Thankfully, an Indian Creek VFD firefighter who lived next to the home was able to extinguish most of the fire before other firefighters arrived on the scene.

According to firefighters, the fire started around a fireplace insert and spread to other items near the fireplace.

All of the occupants of the home were able to get out of the house without injuries.

Firefighters used large fans to remove smoke from the inside of the home.

Personnel from the IU Lifeline Ambulance stood by at the fire scene while firefighters worked.
