Shoals Robotic team makes school history by advancing to Nationals of FIRST LEGO robotics tournament

SHOALS – The Shoals Robotics team recently made school history by advancing to the Nationals of the FIRST LEGO League robotics tournament in New Jersey for the first time.

The team finished fifth in the state competition on December 10, 2022, at the University of Indianapolis. A total of 49 teams competed.

Shoals has two FIRST Tech Challenge teams made up of high school students that are headed by Shoals resident Lorna Troutman who organizes and supports the teams.

The team will be competing against at least 30 other teams at the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, NJ on May 13, 2023.

The group is raising funds for their trip by holding fundraisers and running concession stands.

If you would like to make a direct contribution to the team, you can send your donation to Shoals High School. We wish the best of luck to the Shoals Robotics team this spring.
