JASPER – The Jasper Strassenfest Committee has announced the theme for the 45th Annual Jasper Strassenfest to be held August 3rd through the 6th in downtown Jasper.
This year’s theme will be “Strong Roots Grow Strong Towns.”
The theme was chosen to celebrate Jasper’s designation as the 2022 Strongest Town in the USA and the 20th year of the Redevelop Old Jasper Action Committee.
The theme emphasizes ROJAC’s work in transforming the Patoka Riverfront, including the site of this year’s Strassenfest, into a celebration of Jasper’s history.
As the redevelopment project continues on Jasper’s Courthouse Square, The Jasper Strassenfest returns to 4th Street with some exciting improvements: a reconfigured layout for booths and the main stage; two locations for Half Pot sales with one booth on 4th Street and another at Ruler Foods, and a new ride company, Lark Ranch.
Jasper Strassenfest continues the tradition of free, live entertainment. Opening ceremonies kick off the weekend with children performing traditional German songs and dances. Then, the main stage comes alive with popular headliners. The Beer Garden Stage presents continuous German music, and the Glockenspiel Stage features family-friendly German activities and contests along with hourly Glockenspiel performances.
