New tiny house community built for seniors in Shoals

SHOALS – A once neglected trailer park in Shoals has been turned into a new tiny home community for adults 55 and older.

Four homes have been built by Tedrow Properties with plans to construct seven more, according to information from Southern Indiana Business Report.

Bob Tedrow of Shoals and his fiancee Lee Bell are building the homes, located between Oak Avenue and Miller Street. They bought the property which was once a mobile home park and renovated it into a tiny house community similar to ones he had seen in Florida retirement communities.

The homes are 600 square feet with one bedroom and one bath, with a front porch. The units are available for rent.

His future plans for the area include installing a security system, paving the street and the additions of a community center, picnic area, community garden and a trail for walking.
