Man arrested after pushing and choking a woman during an argument

BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested after Bedford Police officers responded to a call of a domestic dispute in the 1000 block of 12th Street Wednesday.

Gage Sanders

Police arrested 28-year-old Gage Sanders, of Avoca, on charges of domestic battery and strangulation.

According to a probable cause affidavit when police arrived they found Sanders standing outside of the home with another male.

Sanders told police he had just left a court hearing and was at the home to charge his phone. He told police he and his mother had gotten into an argument. All he wanted was a ride to Martin County.

Another officer spoke to the female who was inside the home. She told police she was pushed and shoved and then choked by Sanders during the argument. Police say the woman did have red marks on her throat.

Sanders was detained and transported to jail.
