Obituary: Daniel Curtis Tincher

October 8, 1936 – December 27, 2022

Daniel Curtis Tincher, 86, of Mitchell, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Born October 8, 1936, in Bryantsville, he was the son of Curtis and Iva (Chapman) Tincher. He married Kathy Ann Pichler on May 22, 1959, and she survives.

Dan was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired from Lehigh Cement Company. He graduated from Huron High School and was a member of the Cecil C. Martin American Legion Post 250 and Hillcrest Christian Church. Dan grew up in the Bryantsville Church of Christ and liked to hunt and watch IU Basketball. He loved being with his grandsons, especially riding four-wheelers and teaching them how to hunt.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy Tincher of Mitchell; daughter, Melissa Gayle (Michael) Lowder of Brownsburg; grandsons, Stephen (Beatrice) Lowder of Newburgh and Jonathan Lowder of Terre Haute; siblings, Doris Sheeks of Mitchell and Gerry Tincher of Mitchell; and sisters-in-law, Marlene Tincher of Mitchell and Marlene Pichler of Germany.

His parents; siblings, Mae Lou Howard, Roy D. Tincher, and Phillip Tincher; and sister-in-law, Martha Tincher, preceded him in death.

Cremation has been chosen with a Celebration of Life at a later date.
