HELTONVILLE – Firefighters from several volunteer fire departments battled a house fire at the home of Rob and Jesse Corbin on Todd Lane on Christmas Eve.
The fire was reported at 4:52 a.m. A 911 call reported the house and vehicles were on fire.
Firefighters from Pleasant Run, Shawswick, and Marshall Township rushed to the scene.
Firefighters battled the blaze and the bitter cold temperatures which caused fire nozzles to freeze.
Around 5:15 a.m. firefighters from Indian Creek, Perry, Oolitic, and Marion Township and Owen Township in Jackson County arrived to assist.
Firefighters used more than 15,000 gallons of water to extinguish the blazes.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
