Batcole Foundation partners with other non-profits in donation of $130,000

BEDFORD – Through a partnership with Arms Wide Open Childhood Cancer Foundation and the Mystic Force Foundation, the Batcole foundation participated in a donation of $130,000 to help fund the “Anti-Neuroblastoma Vaccine” at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.

Through funding raised from the Batcole Hot Wheel Nationals at Johnny Junxions, and the Batcole Hero 5K Run & Walk, the non-profit was able to donate $40,000 to the cause in the first installment.

“When looking for trials, we look to our medical advisory board to fund promising clinical trials specifically for kids’ cancers which will not be toxic to the patient,” said Batcole member Carol Winnefeld. “This trial has shown very promising pre-clinical results and the foundation found the trial to fit the needs for the funding. Memorial Sloan Kettering has been a leader in consequently providing non-toxic trials for kids treatments which become breakthrough and ultimately mainstream therapies for the treatment of neuroblastoma and other pediatric cancers. We are excited to see the results of this trial in subsequent years, as our last trial funded to Memorial Sloan Kettering was approved for commercial use as a standard therapy in kid’s cancer.”

Having the opportunity to provide a donation such as this could not be possible without the help of the many individuals and partners of the Batcole Foundation.

“We are so appreciative of the community support given to help raise the funds, as well as our monthly donors, Batcole Gear sales and general donations make up the bulk of the funding raised each year,” Carol said. “We definitely couldn’t fund the trials without the generous support of the Bedford community.”
