Operation Holiday Program provides veteran families with assistance

INDIANA – Operation Holiday Program provides Indiana veteran and their families with assistance during the holiday season.

The program is designed to assist veterans and their families that are experiencing financial hardship.

The deadline to apply is 4 p.m. on December 30. Any applications received after that date will be denied.

This special program can assist qualified veterans can receive up to $300 per child residing in the veteran’s household and up to $200 per household for a holiday meal.

The household income cannot exceed 2 times the US federal poverty guidelines.

An eligible dependent child shall be under 18 years of age or enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program or enrolled in a full-time course of study in an institution of higher education but must provide proof that they maintain the veteran’s home as their residency.

Please note, the maximum lifetime amount that an applicant may receive from the fund is two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500.00), unless a higher amount is approved by the commission.
