Officer sworn in during Bedford Board of Works meeting Monday

BEDFORD – Hard work and determination culminated in a dream come true for the newest member of the Bedford Police Department, as Landon Jones was officially sworn in Monday during the Bedford Board of Works meeting.

Landon has worked for the Bedford Police Department as a Dispatcher since February of 2016, with his ultimate goal being to serve the community as a Police Officer with BPD, a moment that he was able to share with his family, friends, and former and current co-workers.

Jones father, Kevin, worked as a police officer for over 33 years, and becoming an officer himself was natural as he grew up in the law enforcement environment.

Bedford Mayor Sam Craig welcomed Jones to the police force, who will be attending the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy for additional training as well as undergoing field training with the department learning local department procedures and protocols.

The City congratulates Jones for his work, and wish him continued success in his new role.
