Seals Ambulance services to conclude on December 16th in Lawrence County

LAWRENCE COUNTY – Starting on Friday, December 16th, 2022, Seals Ambulance Service will no longer provide ambulance coverage in Lawrence County.

This move has been anticipated following the announced closure of St. Vincent Dunn Hospital, who had contracted services with the company to provide services to their facility.

Recently the Lawrence County 911 Board elected to use IU Lifeline Ambulance Service as the contracted use for the county moving forward.

IU Lifeline Ambulance Service will be paid $400,000 a year, with one Advance Life Support ambulances, two Basic Life Support ambulances and one Squad non-transport vehicle with a paramedic.

Lawrence County Commissioners authorized Lawrence County Emergency Management Director Valarie Luchuaer to enter into contract negotiations with IU Lifeline Ambulance Service. At this time, the contract for ambulance service has not been voted on by the Lawrence County Commissioners.
