MITCHELL – Mitchell Opera House will feature a live country concert featuring Lana Scott on Saturday, November 5th at 7 p.m.
Lana Scott was a finalist of Team Blake Shelton on NBC’s The Voice Season 21. She Lana was born in Chesapeake, Virginia. Lana has been singing her entire life and grew up participating in musical theater and performing at church. After high school, Lana attended Berklee College of Music but left early after landing a singing contract on a cruise ship.
Lana spent the next three years performing daily while traveling to beautiful destinations and rediscovered her love for country music after realizing how well it suited her voice and songwriting style. When the contract ended, she headed west to continue her music career.
Lana hopes to honor her late grandmother and make her family proud on “The Voice.” Country singer-songwriter Lana Scott’s roots are in Virginia, yet she calls wherever she’s performing ‘home’.
Recently relocated from the music scene in LA, she is fresh in Nashville. Lana’s most recent accomplishment was reaching the Top 8 Semi-Finals on the latest season of NBC’s The Voice. During her run, she was labeled “Radio and tour ready” by Blake Shelton, “Songbird” by John Legend, “Perfectly packaged” by Ariana Grande, and “Unstoppable” by Kelly Clarkson. She is known to marry the classic country sound with what’s current in pop/country radio today. Her studio-recorded original arrangement of Katy Perry’s “The One That Got Away” debuted 28 on iTunes Top 100 Country Songs the day after her performance, making a statement of what she’s capable of. Lana’s driving force in life is to connect with people through music and conversation, spurring encouragement and a sense of zest wherever she can. Local talent Logan McKeighen will be the opening act.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for kids 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at Ace Hardware in Mitchell, mitchelloperahouse.com, or at the ticket booth the night of the event. Doors open at 6:15 p.m.
