  • 12:53 a.m. Report of a suspicious person attempting to break into Don’s Carpet Garage in the 400 block of South Second Street in Mitchell. The caller stated the person was also going through the dumpsters near the building

  • 7:49 p.m. Vandalism was reported in the 2000 block of Pleasant Run Road. The woman reported her mailbox was destroyed sometime last night and there were several others destroyed. A big concrete slab was found near the mailbox

  • 8:05 p.m. 911 call at Walmart. The caller reported his grandfather left in a dark van to go to Walmart and the caller’s grandfather who is on oxygen texted him requesting help. Bedford Police were alerted. The caller phoned again and said he spoke to his grandfather and he is now fine
  • 8:33 p.m. Citizen assist in the 3000 block of Port Williams Road. The caller reported the homeowner has threatened to burn her belongings
  • 8:45 p.m. Report of a possible robbery in progress at the Dollar General store on State Road 37. The caller reported there was a white Aurora in front of the store and an employee took the store’s money. A man was arrested

  • 9:49 p.m. Report of a suspicious person in the 80 block of Helmar Drive. The caller reported three teenagers attempted to break into his home. He confronted them and they fled. The caller has a video of the attempted break-in
  • 9:52 p.m. Citizen assist at the Julian Center. A female caller reported she was involved in a domestic dispute and would like assistance getting her personnel items from the home in the morning. The woman was told to seek a writ of assist from the courts. She was also told to contact the Lawrence City Police Department

  • 2:49 p.m. Report of a Shawswick Volunteer Fire Department firefighter being bit by a dog while responding to the 90 block of Leatherwood Circle for a possible gas leak. The firefighter did not need emergency treatment but the bite did break the skin. A summons was issued to a woman for harboring a nonimmunized dog

  • 3:10 p.m. Alarm sounding in the 2600 block of Spice Valley Road. The building was secure
  • 3:58 p.m. 911 call at County Road 250 South and County Road 1040 West in Jackson County. No one was on the call there was only noise. 
  • 4:17 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and 29th Street. The driver was given a verbal warning for an equipment violation
  • 4:30 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and 16th Street. The driver was given a verbal warning
  • 4:22 p. . A Department of Child Services caseworker reported her client said she was going to work and she tested positive for ingesting meth. The woman has her 4-year-old child in the vehicle with her. The woman was not at her place of employment and was last seen traveling south to Persimmon Park Apartments. An officer stopped the vehicle on Woodville Road and State Road 37 and the child was released to DCS
  • 5:30 p.m. Monroe County Sheriff’s Department reported a possible intoxicated driver in a blue Ford F-150 traveling south on State Road 37 and Old State Road 37. 
  • 5:44 p.m. Child custody dispute in the 800 block of Anderson Road
  • 6:12 p.m. Report of an erratic driver in a black truck in the 3000 block of Meridian Road
  • 6:20 p.m. Report of explosives device found in an attic in the 900 block of Teke Burton Drive. According to the log, It was a blasting cap for a replica missile. There was no danger. Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department, Mitchell Police, and Emergency Management responded to the scene

  • 6:28 p.m. Report of illegal burning in the 500 block of 5th Street in Mitchell. Mitchell Volunteer Fire Department requested the assistance of the Marion Volunteer Fire Department
  • 6:36 p.m. Request for animal control in the 1000 block of Trogdon Lane for an aggressive goat that belongs to the neighbor running loose and is in the caller’s driveway and will not let the caller out of her vehicle
  • 6:44 p.m. Traffic stop at Oolitic Road
  • 6:57 p.m. 911 call in the 100 block of Pleasant View Drive. It was an accidental call
  • 7:09 p.m. An information report was taken in the 800 block of Anderson Road
  • 7:19 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 at Salt Creek
  • 7:51 p.m. Report of a possibly suicidal person in a red Ford Explorer on State Road 37, south of the Monroe County line
  • 7:56 p.m. Traffic stop at South 2nd Street and State Road 60 East
  • 8:03 p.m. Threats were reported in the 600 block of Bedford Street. A man was making threats to kill his family. A male was transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital
  • 8:24 p.m. Report of a suspicious male walking in the road and yelling on his phone in the 6000 block of State Road 58 East
  • 8:26 p.m. Report of a juvenile problem at North 7th and West Main streets. The caller reported that four kids are stealing objects from people’s yards. Two kids are on foot and two are on bicycles. Police spoke to the kids at Friendship Park
  • 8:43 p.m. 911 call reporting a medical emergency in the 700 block of West Morris Street in Orleans. Orange County Sheriff’s Department was alerted
  • 8:47 p.m. Follow-up investigation in the 1000 block of Camelot Court
  • 9:02 p.m. Traffic stop at JayC Foods Plus. The driver was given a verbal warning
  • 9:42 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and US 50 West. The driver was given a written warning for a traffic violation
  • 9:50 p.m. Traffic stop on State Road 37 at AppleAcres. The driver was given a verbal warning
  • 10:12 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37, south of Stevens Lane. The driver was given a written warning
  • 10:34 p.m. An information report was taken in the 200 block of Greer Lane. A woman reported someone she can’t see was touching her
  • 10:45 p.m. A caller reported receiving threats from her ex-husband over the phone and he stated he was coming to her home in the 1000 block of Meridian Road. Police spoke to both parties involved
  • 11:42 p.m. Controlled fire was reported in the 2000 block of State Road 60 West
