This topic has been discussed by Dillion before, referencing the need to maintain and take care of the building by implementing a multi-phase construction project to restore the building eventually becoming a community event center.

Dillon described the thought for a four-phase plan which includes phase one estimated at $98,500.00 to secure the roof, new gutters, existing door widened and secured, concrete busted out of the floor, and piping repaired. Phase-two would include a small kitchenette, bathroom, storage, etc. Phase-three would be framing, lighting, etc.

A brief discussion on the topic continued including looking into grants to help with funding for the project, with councilmember Jon Broglin suggesting involving Indiana Landmarks or SIDC for grant options due to the age of the building.

The topic was tabled until further information could be made available for possible grant funds.
