Body of missing Indianapolis man recovered from Lake Monroe

LAKE MONROE – At 2:44 p.m., Monday, the body of David Alejendor Mora-Segura was recovered by Indiana Conservation Officer at Lake Monroe.

Divers found his body in 20 feet of water near where he was last seen.

An autopsy will determine the exact cause of death.

On Sunday, at approximately 2 p.m., David Alejendor Mora-Segura, 34, from Indianapolis, was boating with friends when he disappeared beneath the surface of the water.

Responding agencies searched for Mora-Segura until nightfall when the operation was suspended. The search resumed this morning.

Initial investigation revealed that Mora-Segura was wearing a personal flotation device (PFD) when he entered the water but appears to have slipped out of it.

Agencies involved in the search include Indiana Conservation Officers, Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, Monroe County Dive Team, U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, and Perry-Clear Creek Township Fire Department.
