S.R. 250 to close June 13 for bridge project over Slate Creek in Jennings County

JENNINGS/JACKSON CO. — Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Ragle Inc. plans to close the State Road 250 bridge over Slate Creek, on or after Monday, June 13, to complete a superstructure replacement project.

The bridge is located roughly four miles west of S.R. 3 in Jennings County, between County Road 675 W. and C.R. 475 W., and will remain closed for up to 90 days.

Traffic will be detoured along S.R. 3, S.R. 256, and I-65 to Exit 41 at Uniontown. County Road 550 W. will remain open during construction.

In addition to the bridge project at Slate Creek, the contractor will also replace a box culvert on S.R. 250 in Jackson County. The box culvert is located approximately four miles east of S.R. 11 and will remain closed for up to 30 days. An official start date will be announced. 

The $973,000 contract was awarded to Ragle in February 2022 and has an overall completion date of July 31, 2023.  INDOT encourages drivers to slow down, and remain vigilant of workers and equipment when traveling through active work zones. Each project is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
