NEEDMORE – The Hippity Hop Market was packed with families, ready to support their teachers, while also shopping for some great deals.

The event featured over 30 vendors with services ranging from clothing to home décor and more, in hopes to bring the community together while also meeting with some of the teachers, faculty, and staff of the school.

“This idea for the market came about as a way to support teachers in their classrooms. Previously, they have been left with providing the majority of classroom supplies out of their own pockets,” said Needmore Elementary Principal Susan Petty. “The money for the vendor’s booth spaces will go to each classroom, to help alleviate that cost, and to better serve our teachers.”

Principal Petty knows that for this event to succeed and become an annual tradition at the school, it could not be done without the staff or the parents.

“Michelle Chastain, Julie Ecker, and many more of the members in our PTO put this whole thing together, and it really turned out well. Julie really spearheaded the whole thing to the smallest of detail in order to make this work, and they succeeded.”

The event had multiple areas for children to have fun as well such as meeting the Easter Bunny, storytime, games, and a chance to see what the Robotics Team has been up to. Those in attendance were also able to participate in the penny wars contest at the school to raise money for the Robotics team and their trip to Texas coming up in May.
